Bridget, this was beautiful! After all the drama and terror of the past episodes, the new apparition was perfect and so emotional. Thank you for writing this, and I really hope we’re going to see Judith and Tim again! I didn’t think I’d enjoy a story about a psychic so much!

Bridget, what a terrific ending to a terrific story. Loved every single episode. Okay, speaking of theories, here's my theory on why your dialogue shines so bright and is so strong in your writing. I believe it has to do with your interest in speech, your study of it and the profession you chose. You have a gift for it, among other the other obvious writing skills you have. So glad to have been able to read Down in the Holler, it was a treat, and I thank you for that. - Jim

Thank you so much, Jim! I have very much appreciated your comments and encouragement throughout the story. Each time I published an episode, your comments have been a highlight of my day!

I do love learning about and listening to different dialects, and, although I was initially worried that writing in dialect would be too much for some readers, I couldn’t write the characters honestly and realistically without it.

That last vision she saw of Autumn...as they say, that got me right in the feels. This was a perfect ending.

I got a little weepy while writing it too, which almost never happens. Thank you, Michael!

That was simply exceptional from start to finish. It was beautifully written, it was thrilling, it was scary, it was a brilliant mystery that got my brain going, and I loved every minute of it. And you may have noticed from the trail of likes in your inbox that I decided to binge watch the last 6 episodes. That was because it was totally gripping.

It's not just because your writing is so good, it was the pacing and the setting and the characterisations too which were spot on. One of the most impressive things is that your main character comes across as cold and aloof and unengaging at the beginning but then you start weirdly warming to her, then finally loving her and rooting for her. I'm assuming she's got some kind of Asperger's thing going on or something, but I do love the way her armour kind of develops all these chinks along the way and she ends up learning how to smile.

She is a brilliant main character and you do realise you are going to have to write her another story, yes? It's not because your readers will demand it, but it's because you have created a real person here and she too will demand it. That's what all the best characters are like, in my experience.

Thank you so very much for sharing this wonderful story with us, Bridget. It was magnificent.

Ah, Bridget, you had me at hello and I need more and more Judith. This is a seriously stellar story, and you should be so incredibly proud of this whole darn process!! WELL DONE.

P.S. Did I mention I need more Judith? I do. Posthaste.

Outstanding finale, Bridget. That scene with Cindy on the swing - with the description of the sun and Autumn walking off into the forests - I think that was one of the best "still shots" in the whole story. I could see it in vivid watercolor.

Awww... Judith and Tim ❤️

This was a perfect ending for this story, and I will be eagerly awaiting the next! In the meantime, hopefully Judith will have a chat with her sister Constance and figure out that she should actually maybe make some time to get to know Tim a bit more..

Bravo, Bridget! A perfect closing episode complete with more of the gorgeous descriptions I've come to love from you! ("the dull bronze of fading winter" -- *chef's kiss*) And that last vision of Autumn was exactly what we all needed. Looking forward to joining Judith and Tim on their next adventure! :)

Fantastic ending! It’s all wrapped up, and with a possible opening for a future romance? Maybe as Tim and Judith work together again on another case? Please say it’s so! I enjoyed this novella so much and clapped my hands in glee every time a new episode showed up in my inbox. Congratulations on a story well told.

A great ending to a great story. I did pause when Tim appeared at the end, up on that little trail, and I was thinking that he was a nice guy, please don't do a twist here! But all ended well, and the issues were resolved for all, especially Autumn. And that little loose thread of romance was left hanging, waiting to be tugged on to see what unravels.
