Real great suspense. I like how it's getting really hot and rife in suspicions. But part of me has an inkling that there comes a twist somewhere. Another great chapter Bridget.

Powerful opening. Loved the poem and so nice to see Autumn turning up the pressure. So good, Bridget!

HOOKED, line and sinker! The drip feed of clues is agonizingly believable. Excited for the rest of this series!

This was an especially gripping episode!

But also, I loved the leaf imagery in Judith's dream at the beginning - the leaves starting wet on the ground after falling, then all the way down to "the ancient, long-dead leaves" of coal. Beautiful (as well as "claustrophobic and suffocating)!

Thank you!! Before writing that sentence, I had to double check that my knowledge of coal was correct. I was suddenly afraid that my whole idea of coal was wrong and that it would completely upend the imagery. 😅

Bridget, Down in the Holler continues to shine! This episode really moved the story along. Loved it. You do a great job with dialogue. Thanks, Jim

Thank you so much, Jim! It’s very fun writing Judith’s dialogue because subtext is not something she uses at all.
