The paragraph with Judith trying to figure out how to explain why she didn't want to give out Tim's phone number to Pink and Blue Lady was just brilliant, and hilarious. And man, the scene with Bob. I don't remember him showing up before, but I feel like I know him now already, and I'm sorry for him. This is a fantastic opening.
I love that she didn't bring up Bob's cancer. For someone who struggles with emotions, she is learning and using empathy, which is such great character growth. Fantastic first episode! I can't wait for more.
Judith is one of my favorite characters. And I used to have migraines like that: it felt like someone was pounding a spike from the top of my head through my cheekbone. I'd lose my vision, too. They never lasted long, and my mother thought I was making them up, so I stopped mentioning when they happened. I was an adult when I learned they were a type of migraine.
I’ve never had to deal with migraines, but they sound horrible! I’m glad you were eventually able to put a name to them. Not that it makes the pain go away, but having a label is still nice!
SO excited to see what's going on with this story! I'm interested to see how Judith handles the effects of everything she went through last time. All things considered, she's a fighter, she's doing really well. Getting almost murdered twice is heavy.
Bridget, great opening episode. Got a real kick out of the conversation with the annoying pink/blue haired woman. Showing my age, but I had no idea on the 'benching' thing, haven't heard that one. I'm way, way out of touch. Judith on a paranormal case will be very interesting. Can't wait for Episode 2. - Jim
Thank you so much, Jim! I actually had to do research on Gen Z slang because I spend almost all my time with my kids and don’t know slang anymore. Benching is apparently a term for keeping someone on the backburner as a potential partner!

Thank you so much, Michael! The bit with the pink-and-blue-haired lady was quite fun to write.

Thank you so much, S.L.! Judith is slowly learning how feelings work. 😅

At least I knew I wasn't crazy or imagining them!!!
And we’re off on another adventure! I’ve been looking forward to this and this first episode does not disappoint.
Thank you so much, Liz!!

Also, Tim, you punk, please never change.

Yeah, I looked it up too…I have to look up a lot of things these days, haha.
Ah, like in sports! That makes a sort of sense, in context. Now I know!
..
Really strong opening. I just loved the answer not to give the phone number; made me laugh.
Everything is clear and the characters are well well drawn.
Thank you so much, Anne-Marie!
"So I’ll have to walk around shirtless for a minute, as is tradition –”
I laughed out loud at this.
That bit was fun to write!
Can’t wait for episode 11.
Yay! Another case! Also, whoosh on Judith still suffering, both physically and trying to figure out what to do with her heart.
