So first of all, at least the fleas don't usually bite *us*. Chiggers, ugh. You have my deepest sympathies.

This was SUCH a good ending. It was perfect, I think it hit everything. I need to go read your behind the scenes post!!

Thank you!! Judith and Tim have been on a slow-burn roll for so long that it will take some getting used to when it comes to writing them as an official couple. 😅

I don’t think I want to know what chiggers are… also I cackled with joy at Judith’s idea of exposure therapy.

I would not recommend looking up zoomed-in photos of chiggers, but they’re so small that you can’t actually see them when they’re biting you. The bites are very noticeable, though. 😅

I looked it up. (Of course I did.) And then I read what a bite actually is. (Don’t recommend.) If I ever go back to that “Hallmark” Midwest pie baker story, I’ll now know to add chiggers in addition to the brambles and um bears.

“Bugs, brambles, and bears” definitely has a Midwest vibe! Although nasty, itchy chigger bites might ruin the Hallmark aspect. 😂

This was the best Judith Temple mystery yet, Bridget.

And my worst ever case of chiggers happened after my family went to pick wild blackberries on a farm in Claremore. You have my sympathies.

Thank you so much! I’ve had so much fun writing it.

I’ve had chigger bites before, but these were on another level. 😳
