Down in the Holler Paperback and Ebook (FINALLY)!!
A special-issue Naptime Novelist Newsletter
Hello!
I have one very big, very long-in-coming announcement today:
Down in the Holler is available in paperback and ebook!!!
Everything about the process of bringing Down in the Holler to life outside of Substack has taken 10x longer than I expected and has involved more hurdles than I thought possible (mostly due to this being my first go-round).1 But it’s finally here!!
Many, many thanks to
and Fire and Feast Books for all of the encouragement and the many hours of help and support! Please please take a look around the (beautiful!) Fire and Feast Books website, where you can find more info about Judith’s stories and links to purchase a copy!
Here are the details…
There are a few different ways you can get your hands on a copy:
Order through your local bookstore!
Many local bookstores will order books for you upon request, and because Down in the Holler is published in part through IngramSpark, it is available to bookstores throughout the US and in many countries around the world!
Even if you don’t have a local bookstore that accepts orders, you can still support small bookshops by ordering through Bookshop.org, which donates a portion of its proceeds to independent bookstores.
And, of course, it’s also available on Amazon, where you’ll be able to get a copy very quickly!
Request a copy through your library!
If purchasing the book isn’t an option for you right now, you can still support Down in the Holler by requesting that your local library purchase a copy (or several).
Purchase of a paperback comes with perks
If you purchase a paperback, you can receive a free 6-month subscription to Naptime Novelist (I’ll be expanding paid subscription content and offering a discount to the upcoming Judith Temple Etsy shop)!
As proof of purchase, you can post on Notes/message me a photo of yourself with your copy of Down in the Holler, or you can send me a photo of the online receipt!
Discount for Paid Subscribers
For those who are already paid subscribers - thank you! I can’t overstate how much I appreciate your support. A paid-subscriber-only post with a link to a special discount will be coming to you today!
Please leave a review!
If you do purchase Down in the Holler, it would be amazing if you could leave a rating and/or review. Reviews do wonders to help build momentum, especially for brand new, little books like this one!
If you haven’t yet read Judith Temple’s second mystery, Beasts of the Field (which will be going behind a paywall once Murmurs in the Walls is complete), you can find the navigation page here:

I am unbelievably excited that this is finally happening! Thank you to everyone who has read and supported these mysteries. I have had so much fun writing them, and I can’t wait to share where the stories are going!

It turns out that it can cause some headaches when you share a name with a prolific painter who has published dozens of art books (most with multiple editions that each have their own individual ISBNs - ask me how I know).
Congratulations! Happy for you!
I'm so excited!!!
